Utility Street Worker Finally Finds His Keys After Two Weeks of Road Work

The excessive digging up and down the Liberty Street stretch in Franklin, Pennsylvania, can finally come to an end after work crews finally found their co-worker's keys, according to utility workers. Crews had finally completed their ninth hole in the last two weeks and were fortunate to find the item they've been looking for this entire time.

"We have been to three different towns since the search began," states Mr. Hardhat of Polk, Pennsylvania. "I had almost lost hope that I'd be able to drive again, considering that looking for keys like this is like looking for a needle in a haystack."

Unfortunately, that needle was never found.

Crews have been digging for approximately two weeks and finally discovered the keys just outside of the Debence Music Museum at about 5 p.m. Tuesday evening.

This isn't the first time that crews have lost a set of keys in a place that they have previously worked. Last year, a utility worker dropped the keys to their excavator in a hole they soon paved over in Titusville. Reports say that when the excavator wouldn't turn on, the utility workers resorted to shovels, failing to realize that the keys were being buried underground. When the excavator wouldn't move, they towed it away and completely forgot where they buried the keys. It took them five months to find it.

Fortunately for this crew, they were able to discover the keys in less than a month after losing them. Utility workers are being encouraged not to bring keys to the worksite, which will make it impossible for them to drive there. They would create a policy to leave the keys in the vehicles, but after locking themselves out of their dump truck three years ago, they now have a policy not to leave keys in their vehicles. This dilemma with the keys is becoming a real issue that may result in a ban on all vehicles requiring keys.

In other news, dump truck theft up by 79% in town that has banned vehicles requiring keys.
