Main Street in Marienville was overwhelmed today with the largest crowd it has seen in decades. Two grandmothers, Mildred Piemaker, age 82, and her sister, Ethel Grade87fuel, age 85, were joined by their great grandson for what they termed "a voice against injustice."
The new town ordinance titled "no lawn flamingo's before July" has the two great grandmothers furious. With Summer already begun, Piemaker and Grade87fuel say that it makes no sense to wait another month before setting their flamingo's out in their lawns.
"My lawn requires pink decor to look outstanding compared to the 5 other people living in town" states Grade87fuel. At this point, she ended the interview because she ran out of gas.
Miss Piemaker also expressed her anger with the town ordinance stating that "my pink stakes bring the boys to the yard." The pies she used to bake and put in the window used to do just that. Unfortunately, she no longer has the energy to cook.
The protest went on for ten minutes before both grandmothers took a seat in their motorized scooters. By this point, only their 6 year old grandson had the will to hold up a sign which read "Flamin-Go Ahead! Make My Day!" According to reports, the only thing to pass and observe their protest was another grandmother who stopped thinking it was a yard sale.
