What Traffic Delays to Anticipate During Oil Heritage Fest
Oil Heritage takes place this coming weekend with anticipation of crowds coming from hundreds of feet away. Experts predict the town will be congested with all two blocks having no room to drive on other than the road. With more attendance expected because of the 5 kids born this year, city officials are warning visitor (singular use is intentional) to expect a traffic delay stretching from one side of Seneca Street to the other side.
The first thing drivers have to worry about is the parade, which will require drivers to detour one block away. This is detour is understandably frustrating because it adds an extra half minute to the drivers trip thanks to the stop sign.
Additionally, officials are warning that the city parking lot will be more full than usual with at least half the spaces expected to be filled. Visitors are encouraged to use the empty spaces if they own a car. If you don't own a car, you are probrably one of the residents on the northside of town.
The biggest attraction will be in the park where the stage will feature the biggest names Oil City can afford. Stop in to see that guy who simultaneously plays the banjo and kazoo. He's so popular, his mom and dad are expected to attend. You too can be a witness to the raw, and we mean VERY RAW talent of Venango County's top celebrities. Just be forwarned that ticket prices are up from last year and currently go for 75 cents.
