Oil City Light Up Night Blows Fuse on Bridge; Backup Power Failure
The eighty-eight thousand dollar spectacle famously known to Oil City residents on the Northside Center Street Bridge has officially shut off for the first time in its history. According to sources, the lights instantly lost power just milliseconds after the city lit the downtown tree for the Light-Up Night event.
Sources confirm that the famous bridge lights could not withstand the power of the tree being lit in the center of Oil City. Despite attempts to try to use the backup power to run the bridge lights, the AAA batteries blew up the minute they were inserted into the fuse box.
Residents in Oil City did not notice the bridge lights losing power right away because they were mesmerized by the most expensive tree Oil City has ever purchased.

Local officials began to suspect something was wrong the minute power came back to all the houses on the north side. A convenience they have been unable to revive since the bridge lights were first installed.
Consequently, the bridge lights have exceeded the city budget by millions every month since their installation, making it near impossible for officials to justify fixing them. Currently, the tree at the center of town is the only spectacle the city can afford. Residents are forced to depend on this one decor to represent the city's pride in the Christmas season.
