  • Blunders Pipeline to Warren Impales Sea Turtle

A sea turtle is in critical condition after accidentally getting too close to a string of straws running through Forest County. According to officials, the turtle was attempting to pass through Allegheny National Forest when it unexpectedly came across a series of straws running along the ground. Moments later, a straw got stuck in the turtle's nose for dramatic effect. Sources confirm that the string of straws is President Mayor Blunders' pipeline, which is being constructed to siphon Warren County's oil. The pipeline, which contributed to the escalation of County War One several months ago, was resumed Wednesday morning after Blunders declared that Warren "might not notice this time." Minutes after construction resumed, witnesses say they saw the turtle get a straw stuck up its nose. Much like the viral video from several years ago, we are going to assume the people present did not shove it up its nose themselves, despite that being a reasonable explanation. The turtle was rushed to the hospital where it died of COVID. Protests are taking place everywhere demanding sea turtles be banned for the convenience of straws. What the sea turtle was doing in the middle of Forest County is still a mystery. What we can determine is that it is a mystery.

  • Judge Beagle Denies Venango Republic Appeal to Remove Anonymous User's Face

Several months of court proceedings have led to the Venango Republic's first loss in the case against an anonymous user, who controversially used Venango Republic content as their own meme, without the written consent of Blobbert Blobfish, founder and CEO of the Venango Republic. In the weeks leading up to Friday's hearing, Blobfish, along with his lead journalist, Jeremy Jetfuel, argued that a successful case against the anonymous Facebook user would require the courts to know the identity of the alleged perpetrator. Judge Beagle of the Venango County Court stated that while revealing the face would allow the Venango Republic to know who they are suing, it could lead to major consequences if the emoji is, in fact, the person's real face. Consequently, the request was denied to remove the obstruction to the meme user's identity. Anonymous Facebook user This was not the only rationale behind Judge Beagle's decision. In the same hearing, the Venango Republic experienced the misfortune of allowing their attorney, Jake Horking Kake, to cross-examine the defendant. Horking Kake is notoriously known as Venango County's dumbest representative. As the staff of the Venango Republic gripped their chairs, their mouths dropped in horror as Horking Kake forgot which side he was representing and presented a case that favored the defendant. Horking Kake seen in red ordering pizza on his hair dryer Horking Kake's decision to cite Article 159, Section C of the Venango County fictional federal law book, turned the Venango Republic's appeal on its head. This law, which coincides with section 248 C of Erie's fictional laws, requires recognition of a blobfish nap time. According to this article, when a blobfish, along with his staff, attempts to sue an individual with an anonymous Facebook emoji covering their expression, the blobfish, along with his staff, must also remove any nonsensical coverings that obstruct the visibility of an actual human face. Several attempts to counter Article 159, Section C came after Blobfish requested that Horking Kake remain on the defendant's side. From this point on, the Venango Republic presented several other fictional laws as an attempt to override the one cited by Horking Kake, such as Article 259-ZZZ, which claims that if Blobfish, along with his staff, remains asleep at his desk, Article 159, Section C is made void. Unfortunately, in order for Blobfish to cite this law, he would have to be asleep. Because he was awake to cite the law, it was unusable before Judge Beagle. Blobfish holding standing with laws of the Fictional Universe Another law the Venango Republic attempted to use in its favor was Article 948K, which says that if this law is real, Article 159, Section C is made void. Once again, the Venango Republic faced the unfortunate reality that the law is not real because it exists in a fictional universe. It was at this point that Judge Beagle dismissed its appeal to tear off the anonymous defendant's face. Court proceedings are expected to continue for the foreseeable future, as the Venango Republic attempts to gain fictional compensation for the unauthorized use of its imagery. Meanwhile, the anonymous defendant will remain anonymous, leaving us to wonder who they really are.

  • Pittsburgh Structure Defies Owners' Guidelines

An abandoned building is under fire after intentionally defying its owners' rules by taking a smoke break on sacred grounds. According to information provided by the Pittsburgh Post Pardom, the former Grandview United Methodist Church located at 301 Grandview Ave. in Pittsburgh, decided to help itself to a substance known to cause lung cancer. Fortunately, the building now ceases to exist and therefore, will not be risking lung cancer. "I'm just glad it spent its last moments doing what it always wanted." states one witness from the newly formed Divided Methodist Church. "The building secretly expressed to me its desire to try a smoke break, but that it was afraid of being sent to Hell. Now, it can say it's done both." The structure has not been visited since its abandonment in 2022. After more than a century of being told how to live under the scope of religious perfection, it seems the structure finally fell to temptation now that it does not have a congregation to keep it accountable. "I just don't understand why it went so far to burn itself to the ground." states Pastor Methheadist of the lesser-known daughter church. "I know it was under a lot of pressure from that congregation, but we were always inviting it to become a member at our church to get its mind on something else." As the questions behind what caused the building to snap bring about fresh speculations, many are asking what to do with the remains. Some have suggested creating a giant urn, but cannot justify the cost since that community is poor. Additionally, others have recommended replacing it with a vape shop to help promote alternative forms of lung-damaging pleasures. This idea is being considered, but will have to compete with the possibility of another Dollar General. While the debate continues, the location that once was still is. Despite not having a building on top of it, the ground hasn't gone anywhere, meaning that people still have something to walk on. Funeral processions will be announced later this week.

  • PLATO Mayors Gather to Sign Agreement with Zugnar Alliance. County War One Comes to an End.

After months of brutal warfare between the counties of the Pennsylvania Land and Treaty Organization and the Zugnar Alliance, the mayors of Northwestern Pennsylvania came together to sign an agreement that will end all conflicts for the foreseeable future. The war took a surprising turn in the last month and a half, when Jefferson County used a new form of warfare, which involved burrowing beneath towns with collapsible tunnels, in order to sink entire communities into the dirt, leaving the Elk Empire nothing worth claiming. Although, it cost Jefferson County everything, Elk County has nothing to possess anymore. On the west side, the Crawfordiot Union, headed by Mayor Dumbdumb of Titusville, folded when the Ironed Curtain dividing West Crawford and Erie fell to the ground. Despite the curtain being recently pressed, a gust of wind knocked over its stand, making it unjustifiable for Titusville to financially replace the entire structure. As for the Elk Empire, which accounted for more than eight counties being overthrown, Mayor Bighorn's branding on the Western Pennsylvania world will no longer stain its borders. Elk County has fallen, and the Jefferson County military has cut off the head of their image. Turns out is was just pasted over top Militaries are now returning home. The troops serving Clarion County have found their way back from Butler after weeks of being lost in a county they were never supposed to go to. Clarion's military tries to decide if this is their college Little Timmy of the Venango County military is finally able to return home now that his parents are free from prison. Timmy, whose parents were sent to prison due to his tardiness, will be receiving special honors for skipping school to help fight against the Zugnar Alliance. Special honors to be awarded after parents are through with Timmy Laurel and Hardy of the Venango County military will soon be sent to Uganda to help suppress riots taking place in a nation around the world. For the time being, they are celebrating the end of County War One by smuggling muffins behind public buildings. Laurel and Hardy have minor standoff before learning about the wars end The war is over, at the cost of several fictional lives that we didn't actually kill for fear of public backlash. Having met the standards of a family-friendly war, the mayors representing County War One are proud to have participated in a successful intercountial conflict. • On-Air Voices Too Good for Radio Station

A declining concept called radio just determined they are not good enough for two talented media personalities. According to widespread conversations in the Erie populace, a man whose name suggests he carves wood on the side, and a woman who might be related to the first actor to play Pennywise, are out of a job because syndicated music doesn't make sense in a world that has figured out Spotify. Consequently, the city of Erie wants to hear their voices still. Especially since there have been more than a quarter century of vocal contributions on the part of these sound wave entertainers. A collection is being taken for suggestions on what applicable mediums these stars can transition to. We would hire them ourselves, except we only make 25 dollars a month. That equates to one dollar for every year they've been on the radio. For anyone with recommendations on alternative media platforms, suggestions can be sent to the Erie Suggestion Box on Alternative Media Careers for Local DJs Recently Let Go by iHeart (ESVAMCLDJRLGIH). Although they are out of work, they are fortunate to live in a town that has a non-profit for every potential problem.

  • Bigfoot Refused Place in Taste of Talent Despite Sasquatch Age Standards

We are two weeks into the Franklin Junior Taste of Talent vocal competition with ten contestants battling to impress their city over the natural melodic skills their grandmothers will swear by. So far, each performance has been good. While we understand that sounds insincere, it's only because we have been too busy playing video games to show up for the first two weeks. The Venango Republic has vowed to keep our opinions about the competition uninformed in the event that just in case one of the many performers has no talent, we won't get backlash for a rare case of honest publicity. Unfortunately, new controversial happenings have come to our attention, forcing our publication to speak out against the nationally televised reality series. According to information provided by our Winter Intern, Ye Ti, our Summer Intern, Bigfoot has been refused a spot in the Franklin Taste of Talent Junior vocal competition. This came after our Winter Intern, Ye Ti, was informed by our Summer Intern, Bigfoot, that he was not allowed a spot in the vocal competition. "Me sad for long time friend who told no to competing in local event." Ye Ti expressed to himself while writing this article. Because of his oversized fingers, and low IQ, major edits have been made to correct consistent typos and grammatical errors throughout the article. Ye Ti writing for the first time Bigfoot has not commented on the matter. As the Summer Intern, he is responsible for making coffee, and is currently in time out for producing a lousy cup of joe. What can be determined is that for his species, an estimated century of existence is considered infancy. We understand he is the first and only one of his kind. But as a Pennsylvania native, Bigfoot feels the long lifespan of his mythical existence should be taken into account when deciding who qualifies. Humble Bigfoot gets to work after Jeremy Jetfuel accidentally spills tar in the office "He deserve chance for being good local figure." Ye Ti expressed yet again in his Yoda-like tone. "He give much for community, supporting small business, and switching to vegan when locals say he need to stop eating kids." Bigfoot met Ye Ti around 2007 in a rehabilitation program for untamed Pennsylvania apes. After years of running naked through the woods of Forest County, he won the trust of the public when he managed to choose a salad over a dead possum. Bigfoot and Ye Ti at rehab. Photo taken in 2007 with AI quality. Despite his domestication, the Taste of Talent Junior vocal competition, put on by the Franklin Fine Arts Council, will not recognize our furry cousin as a valid candidate. Bigfoot's dream of being a world-renowned singer is still on hold as he continues to learn to make the coffee correctly.

  • Llama's Death by Loogie Sparks Widespread Protests in Erie

Thousands of protesters, representing the llama community, gathered in the streets of Erie yesterday to protest the horrific death of Llamar Llamley. Llamley, who was struck in the neck by an officer's phlegm Monday afternoon, was attempting to protest the Millcreek Gun pointed toward his home City when Millcreek Bomb Squad Specialists spat in his direction. Llamar Llamley of 501 C Alpaca Street The event took place outside the JCPenney entrance of the Millcreek Mall as members of the Millcreek Bomb Squad were attempting to disarm a day-old pool noodle. Llamley has been accused by Millcreek of firing llama phlegm at the Bomb Squad members while acting as an agent of the Erie Government. Despite pictures showing no phlegm fired from Llamley's mouth, officers discharged their spittle, striking Llamley in the neck before he fell to the pavement. He instantly died of COVID. Llamley's family, along with the City of Erie, have denied the allegations proposed by Millcreek. Shortly after the victim's identity was released to the public, protests filled the streets of Erie, calling for justice to be served. Protesters raise thier voice at 11 AM Tuesday Protesters were peaceful at the beginning with several of them gathered before the stage in Perry Square for what organizers called the "No Fling Protest." The title was fitting to help discourage spitting at llamas while encouraging young people to keep their virginity. Llamas sing for Llamley Once attendees realized their signs said "No Flames", signs were corrected to say "No Flings" to match the event name. Corrected signs Before the Erie County Courthouse, other llamas raised their voices beneath a banner honoring the late Llamley. Erie County Courthouse Other sections of town were not so peaceful in the call for justice. Just a few blocks away, authorities were called to help rectify tensions growing between llamas and business owners on Peach Street next to the Avalon Hotel. Police caution llama's to keep a cool head Several of the llamas were put off by the presence of law enforcement and began retaliating in ways that came natural to them. SVLICE (left) and SWAT (right) team members embrace for spitfire Authorities eventually had enough and took it upon themselves to enforce the laws of the city. Llamas run is panic It was at this moment, it occurred to the llamas and authorities that Llamley died at the hands of the Millcreek Bomb Squad, who the City of Erie has been in conflict with due to the Mall Pistol being pointed in their direction. When each side realized that protesting Erie for Millcreek's deed makes no sense, authorities went home, and the llamas quit retaliations. Instead, they held memorial ceremonies on street corners to honor their friend. Llamas gather paying respects to Llamar Llamley Other llama's still craved justice. At 2 PM, many crossed the border into Millcreek to form new protests directed at the right township. Once again, by the thousands, they took to the streets, repeating the same cycle that had escalated in Erie. Erie havoc in Millcreek The few llamas that protested peacefully gathered in lesser numbers around regions where llamas are not normally welcome. Llamas These llamas were instantly eaten within minutes of arriving, an outcome which should have been predictable given that the entire population of Millcreek is made up of coyotes. Tuesday's protests accomplished absolutely nothing. Llamley is now a stuffed trophy, and the llamas of Erie are still not welcome in the Millcreek community. Meanwhile, Erie and Millcreek are still firing diapers and pool noodles at each other with no end to the conflict in sight.

  • East Crawford's Ironed Curtain Falls

The curtain dividing West Crawford and Erie has officially fallen after a giant gust of wind pushed it over. According to witnesses, the delicately pressed curtain, hung more than a week ago, was hung from a stand too unstable to support its weight. By Monday afternoon, the curtain collapsed to the ground. Residents of both counties expressed relief now that the structure is no longer separating them. "I don't go to Crawford for any reason whatsoever." states Mable Mushmouth. "There is just way too much to do in Erie. I almost forgot that county existed." Family reunited after more than a week of separation. Picture taken on Erie's side of the border. Now, West Crawford residents who are able to afford the commute are no longer prevented from crossing the border. The only concern is what will happen to the Crawfordiot Union and East Crawford's claim to the two neighbors. "We're claiming our counties back." Mayor Dogfood of Meadville told the press. "I'm not exactly sure why we gave them up in the first place. It's not like the Elk were shooting anything dangerous at us." Mayor Dogfood of Meadville Armed primarily with Nerf guns, the soldiers of the Elk Empire managed to take land from 7 counties to form their own empire while also overthrowing West Crawford and Erie to afford Mayor Dumbdumb of East Crawford the Crawfordiot Union he always wanted. Today, the curtain established by Dumbdumb to oppress the people has fallen. For some unexplained reason, this means that the Crawfordiot Union has folded. The militaries of Mercer and Venango are now departing. Those sent by Mayor Socket of Grove City have packed their golf clubs and are heading back to their shopping plaza. Whereas Laurel and Hardy of the Venango States of America are preparing to redeploy to Uganda after Mayor Blunders of Oil City learned of protests requiring suppression. Laurel and Hardy prepare redeployment to Uganda Mayor Blunders of Oil City has no idea where Uganda is or what it is about. All he knows is that a successful military operation to resolve political tension in another nation will help establish his influence as a superpower. As of right now, even his mother does not respect him.

  • Pool Noodle Disarmed, Llama Dies at Scene

After days of brutal warfare between Millcreek and Erie, the Mall in Kearsarge faced what many assumed to be its final fate. After an unidentified spy crossed from Erie into the Colony of Kearsarge, witnesses observed a pool noodle dropped outside the JC Penney storefront in a manner that could have caused it to detonate. It was a surprise to the surrounding observers that nothing happened. With many seeking cover, the noodle just sat in the middle of the road, failing to discharge. Authorities evacuated the scene while establishing a two mile parameter around the noodle. This might be less than one mile... Just roll with it... Many believe this attempt was fueled by the recent tensions over the Millcreek Mall's artillery system pointed toward Erie. A week of adult diaper barrages left several structures in the downtown section of Erie stained with unflushed elderly feces. The worst example of the barrage could be seen on the lakefront, where Erie's largest monument was marred with disgust. Bicentennial Tower stands strong against air strikes Monday afternoon marked 24 hours since the pool noodle was dropped outside the Mall. Authorities state that while they were not confident in the safety of approaching, they had no choice if they were to save Millcreek's giant pistol. Do we have to keep explaining the pistol joke? Two bomb squad specialists approached the explosive with foam proof shields. After thorough examination, they were able to determine that the pool noodle had no electronic devices attached. Bomb squad utilizing state of the art foam proof shielding Following bomb squad procedure, the officers covered the noodle in special material to discharge it safely. Bomb Squad contains pool noodle Because neither individual had a device to detonate the noodle, both officers were forced to do it manually by saying the word "BOOM!" Once the noodle was properly blown to bits, the bomb squad members removed the shielding and poured ashes on the road to make it look like something happened. Bomb Squad doctors atea to look like it would if explosive went off It was at this time, witnesses say they saw an angry llama running toward the two officers, spitting ruthlessly. Llama attacks Bomb Squad Officers returned spitfire and managed to hit the llama in the neck. It instantly died of Covid. Llama added to Covid count Drive by spittings are a common occurrence in Erie. Although Mayor Paranoia denies it, there is no doubt the animal is a resident of the his town. The question remains if this llama was sent by the City of Erie's Department of Military Affairs, or if it was acting on its own. DNA samples will help Millcreek authorities determine if it came from the Erie Zoo, or if it is among one of the thousands of llama's living among the residents. Mayor Wastecash of Millcreek says that the city will respond to Erie's attempt at destroying the Mall as soon as they manage to collect enough pool noodles to launch back at the neighboring city. So far, no resident has responded to the call to donate their pool noodles for the defense of their town. Experts believe this is due to the local sentiment that the right to bear pool noodles is an ideal pertaining to personal defense and not to be observed as a storage space for political leaders. Protesters gather outside Waldameer Water World Mayor Wastecash is working to amend this second amendment in Millcreek's constitution that puts the right to bear pool noodles in the hands of the people. Mayor Wastecash attempts to amend pool noodle ammendment A meeting will be held tonight at the Zem Zem Club in Millcreek, where township residents can vote to decide what pool noodles to beat him with.

  • Millcreek Survives Pool Noodle Left in Public Place

Several attacks have failed to dismantle Millcreek's giant gun (Mall) over the weekend, with the most recent threat involving a tiny pool noodle. Witnesses say they observed an Erie spy crossing into Kearsarge (a cultural enclave living among greater Millcreek natives), carrying an armed pool noodle with what they described as an "obvious intent to do harm." "Those of us with Kearsarge blood were fearful that the community built by our ancestors would face its final moments when we observed that uncontained pool noodle being carried to the center of our village," states Commodore Perry, a mason who also serves as a televised attorney with a 1980s vibe. Locals take cover after pool noodle is left on road The noodle has sat there since it was first dropped Sunday afternoon. Witnesses say that the culprit carrying the noodle fled the scene after observing its failure to detonate. With Millcreek's bomb squad having no experience in disarming a pool noodle, the territory has been evacuated while authorities attempt to determine when it will be safe to remove the foam object. It is hard to determine why the noodle has not exploded after 12 hours of sitting on the road. Officers have informed locals that an investigation has been handed to Millcreek's Department of Defense, who quickly dismissed the investigation as a waste of their time. Consequently, officers have been forced to determine the reasons behind the noodle's deficiencies on their own. Only one theory has been proposed to experts, citing the fact that the noodle has no charge attached to it. This theory was quickly debunked after experts determined a charge would require explosive materials to make an explosion. Why the noodle is still sitting stagnant remains a mystery. While officers believe it will be safe to approach after tomorrow, there is still the fear of getting too close at a time when the material is ready to detonate. Meanwhile, Millcreek is deciding what they will throw back at Erie. Victoria's Secret has no more lingerie or adult Pampers to launch. Stores are filled with possible alternatives that could send a strong message to Erie. According to township officials, they just want to make sure not to launch anything that could hit someone too hard.

  • Brig Niagara Thinks Everyone Speaks Flag

Crew members for the Brig Niagara find themselves shipless after a flag nerd somewhere in Erie recognized the numerical implications of flags people know nothing about. Not much detail has been released other than what political affiliations pertain to the crew and their former employer. What can be determined is that they seem to think those flags were recognizable enough to make some kind of difference. Most observers of the Facebook post were neither inspired nor put off by the flags until it was revealed they had numbers attached. Now, everyone gets to pretend they were smart enough to understand the underlying message. So.... I guess we can fight over flag implications now. "If the flags suggest that a 47 can be preceded by an 86, I don't know what else they could be telling our children," states one local who fears numbers have supernatural powers. "I had to look at the chart so I know how to recognize when they are holding three sixes in a row. I don't want my kids exposed to that!" The chart they are referring to is the International Flags and Pennants..... Yeah.... We haven't heard of it either.... Oh! That chart! Gee, if you would have mentioned Foxtrot, Kilo, and Lima, we would have known exactly what you were referring to..... "I would have been put off by it if I only saw the numbers," states Mr. Myopinions Shifteasily. "Their choice of using flags representative of the numbers instead instantly showed me the light. I saw each specific flag and was like, 'Wow! That's what they've been trying to get me to understand.'" Now that the cat is out of the bag, locals are forced to be hyper-aware of what flags could be implying based on their uncommon use. Businesses have already begun removing paper towels from their bathrooms for fear of people getting the impression that their hands are dirty. Another local man has gone so far as to remove the "oversized load" flag from the back of his semi in case people get the impression that he is fat-shaming trailers during transport. "This incident has really shown me what to keep away from my kids," states Motherof Childrenwhowillrebel. "I discovered my kids have been keeping a magazine with 3 identical flags that depict an 'X' on the cover. I was sure to throw it away once I realized those flags were nude." While the message relayed to viewers is disputed between inspiration and offense, we here at the Venango Republic would like to acknowledge the girl on the far right of the picture, holding flag number 7. For all you simpletons, that's the red and yellow one. Learn your flags idiots! It's hard to tell since her face without our blur still has a blur. Nonetheless, we strongly believe her to be the one who suggested we do an article about a waterslide attached to the Bicentennial Tower. Fortunately, we were able to capture an image of that person the day she made that suggestion. A side by side collage can be seen below, showing their similarities. Faces blurred to respect privacy The ships for each photo are not the same, meaning we could be wrong. However, if that is in fact the woman we assume, we want to say thank you not only for inspiring that first article, which drew more than a thousand people to our website, but for once again playing a role in helping us write something about Erie. We're just sorry to hear you've turned to a life of provocative flag images that supposedly gaslight observers unaware. While the matter could have been resolved by simply taking the picture down and pretending flags don't have numerical significance, everyone now understands that the four crew members holding those offensive depictions of flagnagraphy are preverse in their choice of pennants (big word for flag). The Venango Republic is ashamed that we showed those flags. We will correct our mistake immediately. Good! Now everyone is a flag virgin.

  • Correlation Between Water and Soap May Resolve Stench Plaguing Pensylvania Residents According to Recent Study

A study at Venango Campus discovered a correlation between washing one's hands and good hygiene. According to researchers at Venango Campus, when placing one's hands underneath the faucet at a sink, nothing happens when the water is turned off. However, when turning the handle to a faucet with functional capabilities, water pouring from the spigot removes dirt and grime from a person's body. After hours of surveying different methods, scientists at Venango Campus had the brilliant idea to apply an external substance to their hands while experimenting with the water pouring from the faucet. Elements ranged from gasoline to uranium. At the end of the test, it was discovered that the most effective product was one they bought from the store called soap. Unlike the uranium, soap did not cause the scientist's hands to burn, and easily washed several forms of dirtiness from the scientist's hands. Professors state that it is the cleanest that they have felt in years. Another form of uncleanliness the professors were able to address was with their hair follicles. For several generations, residents of Venango County and the surrounding regions have been trying to figure out how to make their heads smell pleasantly. Ad After shopping for weeks at the local Family Dollar, professors at Venango Campus were able to discover a product called shampoo. Not only does this substance seem to clean one's hair, but it also adds a fragrance that covers up any unwanted uncleanliness that may be left behind. Scientists do note that one should be careful what product they buy in order to prevent a white element from appearing in one's hair. This element they refer to as dandruff. Researchers at Venango Campus consider these recent discoveries a breakthrough in modern technology. While more tests must be done to determine how to deal with the odor of armpit, hair, and oral tooth decay, researchers say that they are confident they will find the elements necessary to create a solution to those problems. Right now, the research is being forwarded to Clarion University and to colleges throughout the western Pennsylvania region, including the University of Pittsburgh, where scientists believe they will be able to use the data to help locals in a town full of yinzers and jagoffs.
