A Look Back At The Covid Drama Queens

Roughly 5 years ago Pensylvania took part in the worlds decision to shut down over a disease we knew nothing about. While the phrase "better safe than sorry" is relevant when dealing with unknown consequences, the reaction of our governor and others around the world was a comedy gold mine. Mind you, we here at the Venango Republic do not find the deaths of people funny at all. What we do however find hilarious is the fact that the slow progression of the virus was being treated like it was hurting our state more than other common deaths which at that point, were likely more severe. Example: Governor Wolf declares in this video that in the first two weeks of the pandemic Pensylvania only had 172 covid cases in the state before the first death took place.....
Wow! It took two weeks and 172 people in a state with over 12 and a half million people before the virus finally killed someone! Meanwhile, drug overdoses, car crashes, murderers, cancer victims, and other common forms of deaths don't seem to spark our wonderful Wolf to produce a video about the dangers of existing.....
Are we mocking the death of this covid victim? Of course not! We are however mocking the fact that other comon forms of death did not recieve this much publicity, yet covid got the spotlight before it even claimed a victim. We shutdown everything, slowly waited for someone to die, then pretended to be more saddened than by other common deaths that occur every day.
Here's just a few examples of other deaths in Pensylvania our beloved Governor considered less noteworthy than what was then the slow progressing virus: Cancer, which in 2020 claimed roughly 75 people a day. How about murders which in Philidelphia alone were happening almost twice daily? And don't forget motor vehicle accidents which claimed roughly 3 people each day that same year!
Now, about this covid, which according to data at the time, had slightly less than a one hundered percent survival rate and took two weeks to finally kill just one person. How about we make a livestream where we claim to have a "heavy heart" over this one guy we've never met before and pretend this death makes us more sad than all the other deaths that keep happening around us daily? You can really feel the sincerity in our former Governors presentation. He surely can't just be doing this for publicity.....
By the way Mr. Wolf.... You forgot to wash your hands on camera like every other press briefing.....

Interestingly enough, Governor wolf emphasized washing his hands yet never seemed to wash that suit. As you can see, he wore it every day. That just makes you look lazy man!
As a former radio DJ, our advertising specialist, who uses the alias of Jason Bourne, had to listen to this crap every day because his boss insisted on playing it on the radio. He still suffers from PTSD hearing Dr. Levine speak about washing hands.

"Please (awkward pause) wash your hands (awkward pause) use soap and water for 20 seconds (awkward pause) or as long as it takes for you to sing happy birthday (awkward pause) twice....."
No joke! Just listen to a Levine speech and you'll feel like you are hearing a google assistant! We aren't quite sure if they're a drag queen or drama queen. All we know is that after the first day, Bourne desperately wanted someone to drag that drama off the podium.
If you think the drama only was in the press, you'd be wrong. The Governor and Dr. Ricardo successfully put people in panic mode. Our advertising specialist, was walking out of a gas station one day and overheard someone complaining about them not wearing a mask.
"How careless! When this virus overtakes the county again it will be the fault of people like him!" Stated the drama queen overheard by Bourne.
Mind you, it was four months into the pandemic and Venango county only had about 50 recorded cases at that point. That is less than 1 percent of the county population! What was that line about "overtaking the county again?" What the hell do you mean by again lady? We were four months in and still hadn't seen a spike! In fact, by the end of the year, we only saw 58 deaths in our county from the disease which is slightly above one percent of the county population!
That's right, the political figures who were desperate to create propaganda for our election year were successfully invoking fear in the public and people were buying this crap! A disease that slightly less than one hundred percent of people would recover from was causing individuals to become anxious and bitter. And yes, it was Governor Wolfs fault!
Just think about the fear tactic being used on a daily basis during their press briefings. Instead of giving us the current covid cases, they included the people who no longer had covid.
On May 1st of 2020, Dr. Levine anounced 46,971 cases. As we know, a person can only have covid for a maximum of 2 weeks. However, instead of subtracting those 47 thousand cases two weeks later, they just added to it.....
"As of 12 AM this morning, we have 938 new cases of covid-19. This brings our statewide total to 59,636......" Stated Levine who doesn't seem to understand that people recover from diseases.
What's wrong with not subtracting the number? Well, although they weren't technically telling you those cases were current, they were leading you to believe that 59 thouseand people in the state of Pensylvania had covid at that time. However, when you subtract the 47 thousand from two weeks before, you'll find that the current case count would have been around 12 thousand instead. A much less scary number.
That's right! We are accusing the former Governor and his personal dragged up drama queen of trying to scare the public with falsified numbers. You freaking turds! And now, five years later, no business was ever compensated for being forced to shut down over a slow progressing virus. I wonder if we have a count of how many families starved to death that year. Not to mention the suicide rate that likely spiked due to the drama they created.
I think it goes without saying, we here at the Venango Republic hate the dynamic duo of covid drama. Even five years later, we want nothing more than for them to have to pay dearly for the businesses they destroyed. Unfortunately, it's likely never going to happen. People have kind of forgotten about he pandemic and the drama of our political leaders. It's 2025, a new Governor is in office, and nobody seems to remember what turmoil that sad escuse of a politician caused.
