  • Dead Level Holds Show With Live Sound

A crowd of 300 fans waited in anticipation for the return of Dead Level. This came after a 10 month break forced the fans to put up with Justin Bieber tunes. The stage was set. The lights dimmed. The Emcee dramatically prepared the crowd with the introduction "the one.... the only...... Dead Level!!!!!!!!!!!" The crowd roared with excitement. That is, until the show started. Then, confusion struck..... "I heard sound from the speakers" says Mr. Punk Rocker, a local goth who resembles the kind of employee you typically find behind the counter at a Dollar General store. "I thought I was coming to see Dead Level! Instead, the guy at the sound board forgot to mute the levels on the board. I was extremely caught off guard by the result!" The crowd seemed to enjoy the music despite oxymoron in the bands name. Nonetheless, some visitors are slightly disapointed. "I heard the name 'Dead Level' and genuinely thought this was going to be silent music" says Mrs. Earbleed "I was prepared for an evening of nice and quite entertainment. Instead, it was loud like I was attending a Metal concert." When Mrs. Earbleed demanded her money back, she was asked what she expected at the return of the areas most famous rock band. Earbleed replied "WHAT?" Her hearing still has not returned.

  • Mayor Hires Local Mistake to Consult Oil City Traffic Study

In a decision that can only be described as “on brand,” Mayor Blunders has once again made headlines by appointing a local man named Jake Horking Kake to lead a city-funded traffic study through downtown Oil City — a town where the only real congestion is caused by people forgetting where they parked. Horking Kake, known primarily for mispronouncing “infrastructure” at public meetings and once mistaking a pedestrian crosswalk for an art installation, began the study by stepping directly into Route 8 traffic with no plan, no safety gear, and a clipboard containing only a printed photo of himself. Someone please tell this guy he will never achieve amateur modeling. He attempted to stop drivers by waving his arms and shouting, “I’m with the mayor!” — which, according to witnesses, caused more confusion than compliance. Something his obnoxious waste of being does regularly. Within minutes, Horking Kake was struck by a 2008 Buick LeSabre going 19 mph and reportedly asked the driver if they “had a permit to go that fast.” Blunders defended the hire, stating, “Jake Horking Kake has always been a strong public figure” (though mostly in scent — his unmaintained body odor has always been compared to the fish smell on South 4th Street). “He’s spoken at numerous city events" states Blunders "mostly when he wasn’t asked to.” Even his mother couldn’t get him to shut up in church. Though his traffic report was never completed, it was discovered that he had drawn arrows on the back of a McDonald's receipt and labeled them “emotional pathways.” The irony being his pathway has no emotional supports. As for his injuries, officials say he’s expected to make a full recovery (to the town’s dread). Though his ego may remain bruised for decades (let us hope). In a final bit of poetic irony, the mayor’s office issued a press release concluding: “Being struck on Route 8 was the emcee’s fate.” Unfortunately, the car that hit him was scratched slightly.

  • Man Breaks Back Trying to Lift Clark's Donuts

Clark's Donuts are known for being humongous. In 2018 a local was able to feed an entire village just by donating one of them to Feed The Hungry. Last year, a 90 pound horse jockey ate one just before the weigh in but was soon disqualified for being 300 pounds too heavy. Later when trying to ride the track, he gave his horse a hernia. As for Saturday however, one man was completey unprepared for the permanent damage his body would take while trying to carry one of Clark's donuts out of their new location. It was 7 AM and Clark's Donuts had just begun their grand opening. Skoal Copenhagen, a local known to always bite off more than he can chew, ordered Clark's largest donut from the case. It took the associate 25 minutes to lift it out of the display before rolling it across the floor to Copenhagen. Accompanied by his friend Eyelift Usteer, the two managed to carry the donut out the front door before Copenhagen accidentally slipped on his low self esteem. The donut crushed Copenhagen like a cheap brand of chew. He was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately fell apart in multiple pieces when they lifted him into the ambulance..... I mean he is named after shredded chewing tobacco after all..... The donut has remained on the ground all weekend waiting for us to write this story we desperately want Clark's to share to their Facebook page. What a shame it would be if we ruined that hope by concluding with a politically incorrect joke..... We better be careful and have a good finish..... Our story concludes with three Asians walking down Liberty Street. As they passed a cow graze, one said "look, a cow graze." As they passed a man whose head was grazed by a bullet, one said "look, a bullet graze." Finally, the Asians walked up to the oversized donut left on the ground. The last Asian said "look, a donut graze...." Oh darn it! Now Clark's probably won't share this article because of that joke! Then again.... Maybe they won't understand it.... Nah! Someone would expRain it sooner or Rater......

  • Police Searching for Man Who Took Bite Out of the Donut

Police are investigating the vandalism of a donut shop sign. Formally known as "Olark's Donuts" the family owned business had to unexpectedly change their title to "Clark's Donuts" when on opening day, they discovered someone took a bite out of their sign. Olark's name marred by man's gluttony.... "This is not just inconvenient for our business" says Mr. Clark, who up until yesterday went by "Olark" "Now, my entire family has to get new birth certificates, social security cards, and explain to the extended family why they too can no longer use the Olark name!" Mr. Clark, formally Olark, is not against the name change since Clark does have a nice ring to it. However, changing ones identity takes time and money. Plus, there is also explaining to everyone you know that you no longer go by Olark. "I still have people coming up to me thinking my name is Olark. I have to explain it's been changed unexpectedly because some moron couldn't control his appetite. It still bugs me that he never paid us for the donut either." Unfortunately, the Clark's will have to settle for their new family name. Unless someone replaces the donut on the sign, they are stuck with it forever. So they might as well get used to it....

  • Blood Vacuum Woman to Team Up With Peewee Herman to Find Her Bike in Upcoming Article

A woman whose name Google defines as a intrauterine vacuum-induced hemorrhage control device used to treat postpartum uterine bleeding and hemorrhage is teaming up with Peewee Herman to find her bike. This came after some dirtbag stole it from her property. We want to make it very clear, the woman we are referring to is not the same as the last article we wrote about involving someone whose name Google defines as a intrauterine vacuum-induced hemorrhage control device used to treat postpartum uterine bleeding and hemorrhage. That woman told us on messenger that she didn't want the article to be written. Fortunately, another woman whose name Google defines as a intrauterine vacuum-induced hemorrhage control device used to treat postpartum uterine bleeding and hemorrhage had her bike stolen today. This means that we could us this story about Peewee Herman afterall.... "It's quite convenient to have a woman with the exact same name lose her bike to theft after the first woman whose bike was stolen said no to the article" says Jeremy Jetfuel, lead journalist for the Venango Republic "we here at the Venango Republic try to respect people who don't want articles written about them." The original woman was very clear that the article should not be written about her as you can see in the picture below.... Woman needing life telling us to get a life... The Venango Republic was thrown off by this assertion that we "begged" for her permission to make an article..... Jeremy Jetfuel putting the blood vacuum in her place.... Google definition.... Not ours.... Consequently, the Venango Republic will not be posting an article about this woman teaming up with Peewee Herman. Instead, Peewee Herman will team up with the other woman whose name Google defines as a intrauterine vacuum-induced hemorrhage control device used to treat postpartum uterine bleeding and hemorrhage. We don't want to make the first blood vacuum angry. She obviously has postpartum and forgot to use her blood vacuum. We'll just use the new blood vacuum lady instead....

  • Dirtbag Cought on Camera Stealing Clarion Woman's Bike

You read that correctly. An actual dirt bag was caught on camera trying to steal a woman's bike from outside her residence. Although he got away with the bike, he couldn't get away with his dignity. The woman, whose first name refers to a intrauterine vacuum-induced hemorrhage control device used to treat postpartum uterine bleeding and hemorrhage (no joke.... we looked up her first name to give her an alias and that's what Google told us.... we'll still keep her anonymous....), posted her frustrations to the What's Happening In Clarion County Page. Only woman with a life condemning those without a life..... She has a right to be mad people.... the dirtbag stole her bike.... On a separate occasion, the dirtbags accomplice was also seen stealing a bike across town.... Courtesy of Artificial Intelligence..... Both men, if caught, will be put into a vacuum cleaner for solitary confinement and will be forced to have the pregnancy blood vacuum named after them instead.

  • Prince Faces Backlash For Hurting Something Clever Sales At Fashion Show

It was an event unlike anything Venango County has ever seen. Everything was going according to plan. The models walked down the aisle to finish their run, the customers watched and ate their food, and the villiage idiot spilled wine on the only white dress making Something Clever wish they also collaborated with Tide Cleaning Solution. Nonetheless, everything was going perfectly. That is, until Prince closed out the event with his final selection.... "I was shocked by what he chose to sing" says the owner of Something Clever "while I agree with the line, I am trying to run a business. So hearing Prince sing the line 'you don't have to be beautiful' caused me to wonder if he was trying to hurt my sales...." The soft opening was a major success selling out in approximately five minutes. According to the owner however, they could have sold out in two had prince not caused the customers to second guess their needs. "Ultimately, we knew our products were irresistable to the female shopping complex" states the owner "but thanks to Prince, we had to stand around for an extra three minutes waiting for our customers to decide if they really wanted to buy." Something Clever is considering a lawsuit with the late Prince for having to pay their staff overtime. "We know he has the money. Not just because it's Prince. But because we know for a fact that on his life insurance policy, he made himself his own beneficiary." The deceased Prince has not commented on the event. He seemed too burried in his own concerns to be worried about a simple line from a song. Two things are for certain; he will not be making an appearance in Venango County again, and men who put on headphones to listen to prince immediately regret it by the chorus. Trust me! He will conclude the chorus and you'll realize you got kissed in the ear by Prince....

  • Oil City Megacorps Sign Armless Quarterback in 7th Round of the NFL Draft

The Oil City Megacorps have successfully signed another useless asset to the team. With no starting quarterback last year, the Megacorps had no choice but to draft a quarterback this year. Instead of landing one in the first round, the team elected to wait until the last. Who did they wind up with? A man who doesn't even have the limbs necessary to throw the ball. Megacorps 2025 logo... Note that this years draft class consisted of many promising players. Instead of Oil City getting what they needed, they instead drafted 4 punters, 2 longsnappers, and traded their team bus for 8 new kickers. As for the quarterback they selected, he wasn't even an eligible player. Just a plumber called in at the last minute to fix a busted urinal. With the NFL training camp just around the corner, the Oil City Megacorps are once again overmanned in useless positions while lacking necessary players in other positions. Last year, the offense lacked linemen and had to depend on punters who were constantly trampled over. What linemen were available were for some reason placed on the field at wide receiver. We are not sure what coach Numskull is trying to accomplish with these poor decisions. One thing is for sure; those Hail Marry passes he attempted on every single play last year show his playbook is just as limited as his roster.

  • Oil City Success Lose to Pittsburgh Pirates 41-0, Celebrate Thinking They Won

The Oil City Success  took on the Pittsburgh Pirates this weekend and delivered a performance that left fans speechless—and not in a good way. With a roster that spans preschoolers to retirees and includes at least one player who thought “shortstop” was a break in the game, the Success  never quite grasped the concept of baseball. Their pitcher refused to throw the ball because he “didn’t like the way it was looking at him,” while the catcher wore his glove on his foot “just in case.” Oil City pitcher standing where he shouldn't be.... What the hell is he looking at? Coach Jerry “Don’t Call Me Coach” McFlannel, who spent most of the game arguing with a Gatorade cooler, remained confident. “We had ‘em right where we wanted ‘em,” he said, pointing at the Pirates' dugout. “Confused.” Despite losing 41–0, the team clapped, high-fived, and posed for photos with a scoreboard that had been unplugged by the third inning. With an 0–17 record and no clear understanding of how baseball works, the Success  are heading into next week’s game with the same energy: loud, proud, and completely unprepared.

  • Trails To Ales Brewery Announces Outdoor Seating to Enjoy Fresh Semi Truck Exhaust Infested Air

In a bold move that’s got Franklin buzzing, Trails to Ales Brewery has opened a new outdoor seating area. Facebook users were quick to celebrate, as the brewery now offers a perfect place to sip on beers while soaking in the sun with no umbrella to protect you. Local beer lovers are already praising the move. “Finally, an excuse to sit outside and pretend I’m doing something productive,” one patron quipped. Jeremy Jetfuel, our lead journalist, gave the space two thumbs up after spilling a flight of beers all over the County Judge. “Great spot to drink and forget about the laundry,” he said. Whether you’re hiking the trails or just dodging housework, Trails to Ales outdoor seating is the place to be — just don’t forget the sunscreen (or your buddy to grab the next round).

  • Smoke Cantina Removes Dead Weed From Ceiling

In an unexpected move, Smoke Cantina has removed the weed that was formerly hanging from their ceiling — a decision that has left regulars dazed, confused, and oddly nostalgic for the days of ducking under fake foliage to get their tacos. The Facebook post revealing the plant’s absence was shared four days ago see it here , and reactions have ranged from “RIP ceiling kush” to “wait, was that real?” Patrons are demanding answers — or at the very least, a replacement fern. Insiders suggest the decision may have been prompted by a recent incident involving our lead journalist Jeremy Jetfuel, who struck his head on the plant while trying to photograph his burrito from an “artsy overhead angle.” Witnesses say Jetfuel stumbled backward into a table of spicy margaritas and briefly declared the guacamole "sentient." Smoke Cantina has yet to comment on whether the plant will be replaced, but one staff member hinted at a potential comeback — this time as a floor lamp. Stay tuned.
